Gender Justice Uncovered Awards / Premios Género y Justicia al Descubierto

The awards were created to highlight the fact that in every country, regardless of its political system, culture or religion, what judges and courts say has a tremendous influence on the sense of justice and in the day to day lives of people.
Los premios fueron creados teniendo en cuenta que en todos los países, sin importar su sistema político, tradiciones o creencias religiosas, los comentarios de jueces o juezas, cortes y tribunales tienen una influencia enorme sobre el sentido de justicia y la vida diaria de todas las personas.

Human Trafficking / Trata de seres humanos

Our objective in this line of work is to seek the recognition of the rights of trafficking victims as well as to change the manner with which authorities tackle the problem of trafficking by shifting the focus of the problem from one of crime and migration control to one which centers on the human rights violations and reparation for the victims.
El objetivo de nuestro trabajo en esta línea es lograr el reconocimiento de los derechos de las víctimas de trata y cambiar la forma en que las autoridades combaten el problema mediante el cambio de enfoque de uno criminalístico y migratorio a uno centrado en las violaciones de derechos humanos ocurridas y en la reparación integral a las víctimas.

International Gender Crimes / Crímenes internacionales de género

We recognize gender crimes committed in situations of conflict, systematic and widespread violation of human rights, or when a person is illegally detained and subject to sexual slavery and rape, as crimes against humanity.
Entendemos por crímenes de género aquellos que se cometen en una situación de conflicto, de violación sistemática y generalizada de derechos humanos o cuando una persona se encuentra bajo detención, tales como violación como tortura o esclavitud sexual como crimen de lesa humanidad.
