Intersectional Discrimination / Discriminación interseccional

Women’s Link seeks to work strategically with the courts in order to assure that gender discrimination is addressed with an intersectional approach. This means taking into account the complexity of the human experience, the interplay between discrimination and power as well as the different factors that influence how discrimination occurs and the mechanisms that are necessary to effectively address it, such as ethnic origin or race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, religion, migration status, age, political affiliation, disability, socio-economic status, among others.

Women’s Link busca trabajar estratégicamente con las cortes con el fin de asegurar que la discriminación por razones de género se considera desde una perspectiva interseccional. Ello significa tener en cuenta la complejidad de la experiencia humana, las dinámicas de poder y discriminación, los mecanismos que se requieren para combatirla así como los diferentes factores que influencian la forma en que ocurre la discriminación tales como raza o etnia, sexo, género, orientación sexual, religión, filiación política, estatus migratorio, estatus socioeconómico, edad, discapacidad, entre otros.
